CloserStill Media buys into eLearning Guild


CloserStill, which runs the Learning Technologies and Online Educa conferences, has bought a majority stake in Focuszone Media, Inc., which operates primarily as The eLearning Guild.

Flash in the Pan Take 2 – How will Your eLearning React when “Disable by Default” Hits in July 2019?

Adobe have told all of us that support for the Flash animation player will cease in 2020 – however …


… to compound the issue, Google have announced their Flash “Disable by Default” date for the Chromium browser as July 2019, whilst Mozilla say the Firefox browser will disable the Flash plug-in “by default” at some point in 2019.

The Scottish Government have launched a £2 million Digital Development Loan to provide funds to companies who wish to improve their digital capabilities and processes, focusing on areas such as cyber security, data analytics and software engineering.

CloserStill Media buys Majority stake in Elliott Masies "Learning 2018" Conference

CloserStill Media, the company behind the Learning Technologies conferences, has bought a majority stake in ‘Learning 2018’ in a deal with Masie Productions.

A new company (CSM Learning), under a joint venture agreement, will continue to produce the annual Learning Conference held in Orlando, Florida with Elliott Masie leading the "programme curation" and hosting the event.

Fuse Universal raises $20 million from venture capital firm


Following a period of strong growth, Fuse Universal have raised $20m of fresh capital from venture firm Eight Roads Ventures which will allow them to invest further global expansion and in product innovation in areas such as machine learning and augmented reality.

World of Learning now Accepting Seminar Proposals

This years World of Learning Conference is being held at the NEC in Birminghmam on 16th & 17th October.  As is now the case with all major conferences, in addition to the Conference, there is the Exhibition which includes a seminar programme that's free for Exhibition visitors to attend.

Instructure have eye on overtaking Blackboard


Instructure, the owners of the Canvas LMS, have announced annual revenues of $158m.  This is an impressive 43% increase on the previous year, but despite the growth, the company is still losing in the region of $50m a year.
