Decentralised Project Based Online Learning on its Way via Blockchain & ICO

liveedu.tv/

LiveEDU is developing a "decentralized online-learning platform" on the blockchain network that imparts real-life project-based learning, delivering live, video tutorial learning where content creators teach learners how to build real products.

The LiveEDU plan is to develop the "world’s largest" project-based learning (PBL) library which will, initially, cover seven topics areas:
  • design,
  • game development,
  • programming,
  • data analytics,
  • artificial intelligence,
  • virtual & augmented reality, and
  • cryptocurrencies.
Looking to raise up to $8m via an initial coin offering (ICO), LiveEDU have now closed their pre-sale, raising close to $500,000, but the opening of the public sale has slipped from 10th December to 15th January.

The bulk of the funds raised will be put towards the development of premium content for their seven topics areas, with the aim of having 500 premium projects for each of the topics within 3 years.  The plan is to have 1,200 premium projects in place by the end of 2018.

Premium content is available from $9.99 a month.

LiveEDU do not believe they are in competition with platforms such as Lynda and Udemy as they're focusing on practical tutorial projects and not beginner introductory topics.  Their plan is to be the place on the web for project based learning - the next-generation online learning Lynda.com, fully decentralized on the blockchain.

Whilst many coin offerings available today are pretty speculative, based on nothing more than an idea, LiveEDU are slightly different in that they already have a product available on the market, with the claim that their 13,000 content creaters who have created over 200,000 hours of video content.

The LiveEDU whitepaper outlining their plans is available here, whilst you can keep up to date with their progress via their blog
